Mucha Jour European Woven Tapestry: Floral Art Nouveau Wall Hanging for Elegant Home Decor

𝐌𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫, 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐲, is a jacquard wall tapestry made in Belgium. It portrays the mid-day personified; the artwork of pioneering Czechoslovakian artist Alphonse Mucha, this is part of his Hours of the Day series from 1899. In this tapestry, we see the woman, fully awake, at daytime, surrounded by flowers as she is suspended in the air.

Mucha's works frequently featured beautiful young women in flowing, vaguely Neoclassical-looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers, which sometimes formed halos behind their heads, usually using pale pastel colors. The Mucha Style became known as Art Nouveau, French for new art, and was often imitated.
