Croise Genoux Belgian Tapestry.
This medieval tapestry "Croise genoux" which refers to the knight of the cross, on his knee shows a distinctive styled piece depicting the knights from the medieval era. The banner reading "non noblis domine non nobis sed nomini tuo da gloriam" means "Noble is not ourselves, but to thy name give glory to the Lord". This medieval knight is accompanied by his horse both with their heads slightly bowed in service of king and country. This distinctive piece shows a subject matter close to the heart of medieval tapestry artists, as tapestries were used in castles as decor for walls, and religious and knights were both subjects portrayed in this era prominently.
