Cheval Drape was woven in 1735 at the request of Philibert Orry who was the director-general of the Bâtiments du Roi, or the King’s Buildings. This French impressionist jacquard woven tapestry wall hanging celebrates the exquisite beauty of the original piece. It represents a fold horse and a camel in floral and exotic scenery. Traditional imagery was popular in the Orientalism period. A marvelous addition to your home décor motif.
