This jacquard wall tapestry of "Aristoloches" or "large leaves" of the 16th century depicts tobacco leaves, which Colombus had brought back from his voyage.
The Aristoloches tapestries were in fashion in the middle of the 16th century. They were mostly woven in the highly praised mills of Audernarde, Frammont, and Enghien in Flanders. This piece is also known as Fiori.
